Interview: Eurdeal.ie – Omonefe Lynch
Z: Please introduce yourself and your project.
Omonefe Lynch from eurdeal.ie
We are a deal site based in Limerick and operating since July 2011.
Z: How did you end up with daily deals? (Why daily deals?)
It is a fantastic way to market businesses old and new without any risk to that business. They only pay for paying customers coming in through their door. It is a real win-win situation for them. We also love to find new, maybe unusual businesses or services that people would not normally come across and introduce those. Who knows? Some eurdeal members may end up with a life lng hobby after one of our deals!
Z: How would you define your market? How do you try to be different?
Our members would generally be very busy people with a lot going on in their lives. They also love to try out new things when they come along and are very very fast to recommend a business or service to their family and friends.
We are different because we have a close relationship with our members, our customer service is second to none and we also donate a portion of our sales to charity!
Zambu.com.pt is the biggest daily deal aggregator in Portugal
(Versão Portuguesa a ser enviada.)
Lisbon (November 15, 2011) – Only a few weeks after the launch of Zambu.com.pt in Portugal, it became the aggregator with most deals in the country. There are more than 350 deals from almost 30 daily deal sources in the list. That proves that the Portuguese market is hunger for more discounts.
Michal Pulda, Zambu’s Country Manger in Portugal, is optimistic about the market: “There still is enough space for new players. We receive emails from brand new sites, which want to be part of it.” So it looks that it is not ending with the number of 28 daily deal sites currently present on the aggregator. “We’d like to thank our partners, but we’re just at the beginning,” Michal concludes.
Like in every industry, there are some big players in daily deal business in Portugal as well. Although, they generate most offers and have most users, smaller sites can use the power of Zambu.com.pt to be next to them on the same page. “It seems to me that this market never sleeps,” says Tomas Netusil, CEO of Zambudeals.com, and continues: “And we do our best to find attractive ways how to promote great deals to satisfied customers.”
